Trading Fees
To keep Xmarket sustainable and reward platform contributors, there are two types of fees you may encounter when trading and settling positions.
Taker Fee
When it applies: You place an order that immediately matches with an existing order in the order book, such as a market order that gets filled instantly.
How it works:
A small percentage fee is charged on the total trade amount at the moment of execution. Usually very low, this fee is typically low and is designed to maintain platform sustainability.
Example:
If you buy shares and your Market order is instantly filled, the platform will apply a taker fee on the total cost of that trade. The final amount you pay will include both the trade value and the fee.
Winner Fee
When it applies: After a market resolves, when you redeem your winning outcome shares for payout (1 USDX per share).
How it works:
A small settlement fee is deducted from your redemption amount.
Example:
You hold 100 winning YES shares
Gross payout = 100 USDX
Settlement fee = 1% × 100 = 1 USDX
Net received = 99 USDX
Tip for Traders:
Maker orders (limit orders that don’t fill instantly) typically avoid the taker fee.
You can reduce exit fees by factoring them into your trade strategy before entering a market.
